2014 Ambassador Training Group 2

Sustainable DC relies on the good work of Sustainable DC Ambassadors to spread the word around town about our great city’s sustainable ways.  Join this impressive team of volunteers who engage all corners of the DC community!

Ambassadors help connect neighbors to the benefits of a more sustainable city and ensure communities can be involved in the process moving forward. After a brief training with Sustainable DC staff each spring, Ambassadors attend community events and reach out to residents, neighborhoods, community groups, and businesses to talk about the Sustainable DC Plan.  By serving as a sustainability liaison, Ambassadors meet and work with other District residents interested in the sustainable future of our city and show people how to get involved!

In addition to training our Ambassadors to be experts on Sustainable DC, we will provide ample events and opportunities to volunteer, ranging from neighborhood meetings and festivals to farmers markets and block parties. SDC Ambassadors are committed to at least one event per month, typically for a 2-3 hour shift.
